NetNumber Joins Intel

Lowell, MA (PRWEB) October 07, 2014

NetNumber announced today it has joined the Intel® Network Builders program. NetNumber is joining this cross-industry initiative to spark innovation, reduce development effort, advance open network standards, increase operability, and ultimately, reduce time to market for NFV and SDN solutions. Through the program, members have access to a comprehensive reference architecture library of proven solutions that facilitate the building and optimization of software-defined infrastructure for the network based on today’s operator requirements.

DNS Made Easy Opens New PoP in Seattle

RESTON, VA (PRWEB) October 07, 2014

DNS Made Easy, the world leader in IP Anycast DNS services, recently completed their initial installation of a new Point of Presence (PoP) in Seattle, Washington.

Seattle is DNS Made Easy’s newest deployed PoP that increases their Mega-PoP list to now 13 facilities with Tokyo, Japan expected to be added in the coming months. The new Seattle PoP is expected to respond to DNS requests for DNS Made Easy customers in the Pacific Northwest area of the United States.

DNS Made Easy network administrators expect the new PoP to cut DNS response times in the region by approximately 30 milliseconds. The reduced time will come in the form of answering DNS requests that would have otherwise been routed to their San Jose servers, which would add response time due to the geographical distance.

The management of DNS Made Easy states that closer proximity servers does not just mean faster speeds. The added infrastructure addition also adds multi-level redundancy architecture, which means less downtime and faster responses.

“At DNS Made Easy we are continuously investing in our core network,” said Steven Job, president of DNS Made Easy, which has a 13-year leading up time, the best in the industry. “A network of this nature is fully redundant allowing traffic to travel the most efficient path to the destination.”

In addition to increasing capacity for the DNS Made Easy West region, the Seattle location makes the 13th city where the company’s DNS is routed. More locations mean a better foundation for the company’s DNS services, e-mail, authentication and authorization, and necessary storage systems and databases.

The DNS Made Easy IP Anycast+ network is a proprietary network infrastructure made up of multiple geographically distributed PoPs around the world connected with DNS Made Easy layer two network.

This routing provides global load balancing, multiple levels of redundancy, decreased latency, and a true distributed response to denial of service (DoS) and DDoS attacks.

“DNS Made Easy has continually been at the DNS forefront during our 12 year history,” Job said. “This can be verified by their top speeds and uptime. We often crush competing services that are exponentially more expensive with faster speeds, higher uptime, and a higher reliability of service.”

“DNS Made Easy is continuing to grow at record-breaking levels and we require a continual investment in the worlds strongest DNS network,” Job added. “DNS Made Easy constantly researches, upgrades, and redesigns their network to exceed industry standards. With 100% of network management being handled in-house, DNS Made Easy can dictate higher standards and better service.”

DNS Made Easy already states that roughly 70% of their traffic they expect to hit Seattle is already hitting their new PoP. They fully expect that near 100% of the Northwestern regional DNS queries to end at the Seattle PoP by the end of the month.

DNS Made Easy Upgrades Infrastructure in San Jose

RESTON, VA (PRWEB) October 14, 2014

DNS Made Easy, the world leader in IP Anycast DNS services, recently completed an infrastructure upgrade in its San Jose point of presence (POP).

The upgrades were finalized last week, and increased the company’s core routing and network infrastructure. The upgrade was necessary to support the company’s Layer 2 network that runs across DNS Made Easy’s worldwide network.

“This new upgrade will help grow our business and provide better services to our clients,” said Steven Job, president of DNS Made Easy, which has a 13-year leading up time, the best in the industry. “At DNS Made Easy we are continuously investing in our core network, and this upgrade part of that plan.”

The upgrades will also better handle the anticipated traffic levels during the next three years. It will also help secure online presence in the case of DDoS attacks.

The San Jose upgrades were also necessary to aid in the inauguration of DNS Made Easy’s launch of its newest Seattle PoP. Clients should expect increases in speed in the Northwestern United States, and increased safety and network redundancy due to the upgrades.

“DNS Made Easy is continuing to grow at record-breaking levels and we require a continual investment in the worlds strongest DNS network,” Job said. “This helps us to hit the goals we have going forward.”

The San Jose location will also support DNS Made Easy’s upcoming expansion in Tokyo, Japan, which is planned for January 2015.

This upgraded routing provides global load balancing, multiple levels of redundancy, decreased latency, and a true distributed response to denial of service (DoS) and DDoS attacks. The system also utilizes the best server location to respond to queries, which results in a faster response time.

“A network of this nature is fully redundant allowing traffic to travel the most efficient path to the destination,” Job said. “This multi-level redundancy architecture means less downtime and faster responses.”

Tallac Delivers SDN Cloud-Managed Networks for Branch Offices and SMB Customers

San Francisco, CA and Dusseldorf, Germany (PRWEB) October 14, 2014

Tallac Networks, a pioneer in SDN cloud-managed networks, will showcase an SMB branch office virtualization and orchestration solution at the SDN & OpenFlow World Congress in Dusseldorf, Germany. Tallac’s cloud-managed network solution enables businesses of any size to easily and securely create branch office networks that connect remote employees and their applications. In addition, Tallac will showcase orchestration of 3rd party network function virtualization (NFV) services including Brocade’s Vyatta 5400 vRouter and open-source pfSense Firewall supporting both VPN and firewall services from a single Tallac cloud dashboard.

A growing distributed workforce, coupled with the proliferation of mobile devices and cloud applications, are putting unprecedented demands on business networks. Small-to-medium businesses are limited in their ability to meet these demands based on today’s complex and expensive wide-area network (WAN) solutions. Tallac enables Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to deliver turnkey, cost-effective cloud-managed LAN services targeting SMB customers.

“Our clinics are highly complex mobile operations involving hundreds of volunteers. We are expected to quickly get our support networks set up and working at a wide range of facilities from fairgrounds in the desert to a tent camp supporting homeless vets,” said Mike Whaley, Vice President and IT Manager, California CareForce. “The Tallac networking solutions are one of the few things we don’t worry about. They just work,” continued Whaley.

Tallac enables MSPs to deliver managed LAN networking services that eliminate the need for multiple individual appliance-based solutions:

Virtual Branch Office: Create centralized, cloud-managed distributed LANs in minutes

Virtual Network Services: Deliver cloud VPN, firewall, content filtering, and DHCP/DNS services from a single dashboard

SDN Applications: Simplify applications for business owners to deliver customizable web experiences

“Traditionally, branch office networking solutions have been all about deploying single purpose, proprietary appliances to a physical location,” said Bill Johnson, co-founder and President of Tallac. “We realized that networking needs to be about securely connecting people and applications from anywhere based on centralized corporate policies and not proprietary appliances. Tallac is re-inventing how software defined networks extend from the data center to the corporate local-area network (LAN) — an entirely new way to cloud-manage network virtualization and orchestration of enterprise LANs,” continued Johnson.

Sectorlink Offers Innovative, New, Cluster Based Web Services

Flint, MI (PRWEB) October 14, 2014

Sectorlink, a recognized leader in the web hosting and dedicated server market, is offering its clients cluster based web service, a brand new service never seen before in the world of web hosting. Cluster based web services use multiple servers to spread hosting services on, so that there is no one single point of failure in the event of a crash or data catastrophe.

“Traditionally web hosting services are all on one server, which includes everything from your web email, to hosting, to analytics. If this server fails, you lose all of your services,” explains Jason Eisert, CEO of Sectorlink. “With cluster based web services if a server fails, you would only lose one part of your service/data.”

Essentially, this innovative new service is a way for companies to prepare for the worst. It’s the equivalent of a company deciding not to put all of its eggs in one basket. That way, in the event that something goes wrong, all is not lost.

This new service also simplifies things. As Eisert notes, “With cluster hosting, you can also have Windows and Linux hosting with one singular account instead of needing multiple accounts.”

So far, Sectorlink has received resoundingly positive feedback from the clients who have been using it.

“Thus far, they like the new product offering,” says Eisert.

He goes on to explain that the reason so many clients appreciate the cluster based web services is not only because of what it offers, but also because of its simplicity and its efficiency. As Eisert explains, “We’ve taken a centralized hosting setup to make it look and feel like a one-server setup. The front end interface gives it a traditional look for web hosting, which clients enjoy. They also like the control panel — it is very intuitive.”

If interested, cluster based web services can be purchased all together, or individually.

“Some of these services include mail service, web service, installation services, analytic services, DNS services — all of these can be added a la carte if desired,” states Eisert. “The main goal here was to get a more reliable hosting service.”

About Sectorlink

Sectorlink is a leader in the web hosting market, and is focused on redefining web hosting services. They offer cloud migration, managed dedicated servers, virtual private servers, colocation, SSL certificates, domain registration services, and more. SIP Forum Releases Results from SIPit 31 in Nice, France

North Andover, MA (PRWEB) October 22, 2014

The SIP Forum has announced the results of its latest SIP Interoperability Testing event, SIPit 31, the world’s premier interoperability testing event for the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) for application developers, service providers, and IP communications equipment manufacturers, held in Nice, France, September 30-October 3, 2014. Hosted by ETSI, the five-day testing event once again demonstrated the critical role that Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) plays in today’s telecommunications industry while also highlighting the growth, evolution and adoption of SIP services in fixed and mobile IP networks worldwide.

SIPit 31 provided 16 attending companies with invaluable “real-world” deployment data gathered from the 21 distinct SIP implementations conducted during the week as participants tested SIP interworking in a variety of simulated, live IP network conditions and settings. Testing exercised the full range of defined transport protocols for SIP, from UDP to TLS over SCTP.

As part of the week-long testing event, 47 participants showed a growing interest in deployment of IPv6-compliant solutions. Other multiparty tests involved a focused test on SRTP, with a mix of sdes and dtls-srtp capable devices; TLS testing using the SIPit self tests as well as server-to-server connections; and ICE tests that were done with a lab network with multiple NATs, v6-only networks, v6 native, with natted v4, and two networks with the same RFC1918 addresses. Testing included advanced network configurations (multiple available Ipv6 prefixes), and advanced DNS configuration, resulting in very large Session Description Protocol (SDP) bodies.

“The demand for secure, robust real-time communication is driving rapid innovation in protocols and products,” said Robert Sparks, chair of the SIP Forum’s Test Event Working Group and organizer of SIPit31. “It is critical that new applications work together using standard building blocks. The SIPit testbed continues to provide attendees with a much more effective test environment than can be achieved with individual peer-wise testing.”

“The SIPit events continue to be critically important events for the IP communications industry because they give participants an opportunity to vigorously test implementations of their own IP communications product or service with other members of the telecom community in a non-commercial, highly cooperative, real-world testing environment,” said Marc Robins, SIP Forum President and Managing Director.

According to Jens Flensborg, Director of R&D at Spectralink Europe, “We make a product which relies on SIP to give us access to the Unified Communications market, thus increased SIP interoperability directly increases our addressable market. At SIPit we get a chance to expose our SIP implementation to other vendors, and get exposed to the SIP implementation from other vendors. We bring, and are faced by, new techniques and additions to the SIP standards before they hit the market, giving us the ability to identify and eliminate bugs before it affects customers, as well as accelerate our time-to-market in bringing new features to our customers.”

Another attendee, Matthew Jordan, Asterisk Project Lead at Digium, said, “The benefits from participating in SIPit testing have been outstanding for Digium and Asterisk 13. The sheer breadth of scenarios and different communication stacks utilized at SIPit events guarantees that everyone finds aspects of their communication stacks to improve upon. SIP – as well as companion protocols such as SDP and RTP – continue to evolve and change. Having a dedicated venue where all members of the communications industry can work together to improve the specifications and their products benefits everyone – including the users of Asterisk.”

A full summary report of SIPit 31 results is available by clicking here.

SIPit is organized by the SIP Forum’s Test Event Working Group (TEWG). Conducted once a year, the SIP Forum has hosted 31 SIPit events around the globe. In the coming months, the SIP Forum will release details about its next SIPit event – SIPit 32. For information about past SIPits, please visit http://www.sipit.net.

About the SIP Forum

The SIP Forum is an IP communications industry association that engages in numerous activities that promote and advance SIP-based technology, such as the development of industry recommendations, the SIPit, SIPconnect-IT and RTCWeb-it interoperability testing events, special workshops, educational seminars, and general promotion of SIP in the industry. The SIP Forum is also the producer of the annual SIPNOC conferences (for SIP Network Operators Conference), focused on the technical requirements of the service provider community. One of the Forum’s notable technical activities is the development of the SIPconnect Technical Recommendation – a standards-based SIP trunking recommendation that provides detailed guidelines for direct IP peering and interoperability between IP PBXs and SIP-based service provider networks. Other important Forum initiatives include work in Fax-over-IP interoperability, User Agent Configuration, Video Relay Service interoperability, security, NNI, and SIP and IPv6. For more information, please visit: http://www.sipforum.org.

Gear Up for the Holidays with Reliable DNS

RESTON, VA (PRWEB) October 24, 2014

October kicks off the holiday festivities and with spending sprees kicking in high gear. DNS speeds are a proven way to increase revenue and get a step ahead of the competition.

DNS Made Easy, the world leader in IP Anycast DNS services, is helping thousands of their customers prepare for the holiday season with industry fast speeds, highest uptime, and corporate support.

According to customer feedback, industry reviews, and SEO experts, speed plays an important role in the success of online commerce. A slowdown in web services can result in significant loss in revenue for online merchants and services. In addition, a slow performing website often leads to lower user interaction, loss of brand credibility, and eventual loss of revenue.

DNS Made Easy always ranks in the top three fastest DNS services for more than two consecutive years. The DNS services of DNS Made Easy has often ranked as the number one provider for the fastest DNS speed in the industry, according to SolveDNS, a third party network research firm.

DNS Made Easy continually outperforms other enterprise DNS services that are often 100 to 1,000 times their pricing,” said Steven Job, president of DNS Made Easy. “Customers who use DNS Made Easy have access to the fastest network in the industry. Many of our competitors often focus most of their resources in marketing and sales and this is where DNS Made Easy differentiates itself from the rest. We focus our resources on what really matters to our customers; speed, uptime, and features.”

In addition to offering the world’s premiere DNS service for performance and redundancy, DNS Made Easy also offers services to optimize and direct traffic flow based on geographic location of the end user; the Global Traffic Director service. GTD prevents companies and organizations from slow load times that can impact customer confidence and cause a loss in sales.

DNS Made Easy has seen more than a 18% growth in its Global Traffic Director services in the last year and recently expanded to their network in Seattle to provide even better routing and accuracy of the service.

“We have seen over a 18 percent increase in GTD specific queries using our GTD services, so the growth shows that companies care about the speed,” Job said. “The demand for geo-aware DNS services is growing because people are starting to understand that routing to the closest web server and application server translates to faster speeds. Faster speeds relate to higher confidence, and higher sales.”

Companies rely on DNS Made Easy’s IP Anycast+ network, which provides global load balancing, redundancy, decreased latency, and a true distributed response to denial of service (DoS) and distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks.

Using IP Anycast+, each name server IP corresponds to hundreds of systems worldwide that are announced from different geographical locations. DNS queries are then sent to the closest name server to the querying client. With multiple networks redundantly responding to the same IP address, network performance and uptime are drastically increased.
