Battle of the Strands 2014 Teams Gear Up for Lights, Cameras and Hairspray as Theaters Around the Country Streaming the Show Sell Out

Top competitors from renowned hair salons and beauty schools worldwide will soon face-off in the fiercest fight of their careers. On Oct. 6 at 5 p.m. PST at the Silverton Casino’s Veil Theatre, Battle of the Strands 2014 will go live. As anticipation builds and showtime nears, scheduled viewings in over 650 movie theaters are selling out across the country. With a seasoned production team steering the ship and the support great event partners, this contest is sure to leave an indelible mark on the glamour industry.

Battle of the Strands returns to Las Vegas bigger and better than ever. As in previous years, teams will compete live in all areas of beauty, using breakthrough techniques, the hottest consumer trends and top beauty brands including Farouk Systems Inc. – CHI, Millennium Systems International, Ultratress, Kryolan Professional Make-up and Bhumi Makeup Brushes. As the show continues to push the boundaries of hair, makeup, nail art and fashion, the competition raises the bar and expands its reach this year with the final “Battle” being live streamed courtesy of Fathom Events. News of the scheduled theater screenings has created excitement from glamour professionals, beauty enthusiastic and contestant supporters, with multiple sold-out theaters being reported in Texas, Las Vegas, Florida and Arizona.

Veteran Co-Executive Producers Jaki Baskow and Karen Annarino of Baskow and Associates are trusted members of the Live Event Production Team delivering the exciting show to live attendees and theater goers. “I have been producing events in Las Vegas for over 3 decades, and for my first live streamed event to be a multi-cultural expression of beauty and fashion that can be seen in theaters nationwide is simply phenomenal,” states Baskow.

Dubbed the World Cup of Beauty, Battle of the Strands is commanding attention around the globe, and its 2014 international competing teams are a reflection of just that. Finalist international teams are Team Canada, Wanda Montes Salon (Puerto Rico), PTY-2014 (Panama), Team South Africa, MALA (Argentina), Team Jamaica, Team Mexico and Team NeoLive Japan. The US teams are comprised of top salons from around the country including, Kontempo (Omaha, NE), Rose Knows Beauty (Birmingham, AL), Hair Magic Salon (Colchester, CT), Team JAB (Peoria, AZ), Hair Love Magic (Aurora, CO), Trinity of Beauty (Killeen, TX), DNS Gold (Lehigh Acres, FL), Juan Daniel Salon (Chicago, IL) and Red Door Spa (Phoenix, AZ). Student teams are Bellus Academy (San Diego, CA), Studio Academy of Beauty (Chandler, AZ), Avalon School of CosmEtology (Mesa, AZ), Avalon School of CosmEtology (Phoenix, AZ) and SECTA (Henderson, NV).

The competition has also announced the inaugural Battle of the Strands Press Pamper Beauty Suite. From 1 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Lyle Malapit (StyleByLyle.com), Men’s Grooming Expert and Director of Special Events for Battle of the Strands, will oversee an afternoon of beauty and pampering for press, media and talent. Attendees will receive VIP beauty services from Lyle’s team of top stylists, manicurists, facialists and masseurs from around the United States.
